Between September 8–19, at Google Hub, Ovidius University of Constanța, the Ovidius Innovation & Entrepreneurship Summer School (OIESS) took place — an initiative within the Constanța INNO Vibe Festival, organized by the Ovidius Innovation Centre and Technology Transfer Center of Ovidius University.

Two weeks of training sessions, hands-on workshops, and interdisciplinary teamwork brought together students, mentors, and local entrepreneurs to turn ideas into real projects.
Participants worked in teams to develop technological products and innovative business models, with a strong focus on the use of artificial intelligence.
By the end, emotions were running high as the teams presented their impact-driven projects to the jury — from a robot delivering medicine between hospital wards, to a virtual assistant for campus navigation or an AI-assisted learning app.
These projects weren’t just academic exercises, they were real examples of how technological education can merge with entrepreneurial thinking.
As part of the program, Teodora Moraru, Vice President of UNPR-RSE and Co-founder of Ambasada, led the workshop “KPIs for Startups – what they mean, how to choose them, and how they guide you when building a business”.

Students learned to distinguish between simple metrics and true performance indicators that can shape the direction of a startup. The discussions focused on:
“KPIs are not just numbers, they’re decision tools. If you know what you’re measuring and why, you can steer your business in the right direction.”
– Teodora Moraru, Co-founder of Ambasada
At the end of the program, Teodora returned as a jury member for Demo Day, where she evaluated the teams’ presentations and offered feedback on market potential and the clarity of their business models.
The success of OIESS was made possible thanks to the involvement of local communities — including Ambasada, which helped connect young participants with entrepreneurs, mentors, and experts from Constanța’s tech and startup ecosystem.
For Ambasada, participating in OIESS was an opportunity to work directly with young people turning ideas into action.
We believe that such initiatives not only build skills, but also create bridges between generations of innovators.
From here, we move forward, with even more energy for the projects ahead.
