Teodora Moraru, co-founder of Ambasada, explained the vision behind the project: "Ambasada is a community created in Constanța, dedicated to startup entrepreneurs. It is the first hub of its kind in the city, inspired by the models already existing in Bucharest. We felt the need to bring this concept here because we believe there is huge potential among young people who want to build businesses. Our dream is to see the first unicorn born in Constanța."
This statement highlights an important reality: the city has the necessary resources to become a competitive entrepreneurial center at both national and European levels. All that is missing is the support and connection of young people with the right opportunities.
„Ambasada” in Constanța hosted the first networking event organized by Teodora Moraru and Cătălin Cenac. Under the "Meet & Greet" title, the event brought together young entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals from various fields to share ideas, create connections, and explore new opportunities. All spots were booked quickly, a clear sign that there is a real and strong desire among Constanța’s youth to learn, collaborate, and build together.
Cătălin Cenac, co-founder of Ambasada, emphasized the importance of this event, mentioning that: "This is the first networking evening at Ambasada; it is practically what we envisioned a year ago. Yes, we've been envisioning this event for a year now, and we are very happy to be here with you."
Ambasada is not just a physical space, but a concept designed to support entrepreneurs at the beginning of their journey. "More than a product or an idea, it’s about networking and about startups. It’s about a place where we come to explore ideas, especially product ideas," added Cătălin.
Among the guests was Alexandru Drăgan, an entrepreneur providing consultancy services on the UK market. He explained the complexity of this field and how innovation plays a key role in adapting to modern architectural requirements.
"We currently provide consultancy services on the UK market, specifically specialized consultancy, which is a very small niche within a very large industry. But it’s a very interesting job, a beautiful industry that, in reality, involves a lot of architecture. We help our clients figure out how to implement their architectural vision, and where it’s not possible, we find innovative solutions. What does this process look like? An architect comes to us, shows us the project, we analyze the regulations, and identify the issues. Where these issues exist, we provide pure engineering solutions."
This example clearly shows that the expertise and strategic thinking of young entrepreneurs can bring innovative solutions to key areas of urban development.
One of the startups mentioned during the event was HEGGO, a digital platform that optimizes freight transport. The founder of this project, Claudiu Heghiș, explained: "I have been involved in freight transport for seven to eight years. I manage a fleet of vans and collaborate with a major transport company. HEGGO is designed to digitalize this process and make the industry more efficient." This initiative shows how technology can revolutionize traditional sectors and how young entrepreneurs from Constanța can contribute to modernizing the local economy.
"All industries are influenced by technology. Beyond startups in transport and logistics, we also aim to develop areas like fintech, cloud, and even medtech — technology applied to medicine," explained Teodora Moraru. This is a crucial direction for the city, as the development of such industries can attract external investments and and create new, well-paid jobs.
Cătălin Cenac also announced a major event that will take place in July: "An important step is to make ourselves visible. To become visible, we need to go into universities and places where young people gather. In July, there will be a major cybersecurity event, and Ambasada will have an entire village there. We hope to attract as many young people interested in this field as possible, because they will have the chance to learn from some very cool mentors from across the country." Cybersecurity is one of the fastest-growing industries worldwide, and the fact that such an event will take place in Constanța clearly shows the direction the city should follow.
The „Meet & Greet” event demonstrated that young entrepreneurs are the driving force behind the development of a modern city. They not only have innovative ideas but are also eager to collaborate and build together. For the city to develop at European standards, it is essential to have initiatives that support startups, connect entrepreneurs with investors, and provide access to essential growth resources. Ambasada HUB and the events organized within this framework represent an important first step in this direction. If local authorities, universities, and the business community support these initiatives, Constanța can become a benchmark city for innovation and entrepreneurship in Romania.
